About
Exemplar X is a series exploring Artists Books and electronic music. The artistic means of repetition in the form of photographs, framing, masking, text fragments, and actions captured through photography, performative gestures, and typologies, is at the core of the works discussed. While visitors browse through the Artists Books, this gesture is projected via live video projection onto a wall behind the performing musicians. The formal analysis of the object becomes an interactive sensory experience.
Setup
The book object is placed on a table that is supported by a chair for a person to inspect the object and spent time with it. A camera films this process an projects it in real time on a wall nearby. While remaining documentary and neutral, the scene is magnified multiple times.
